When Does Support End?
Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
That’s just 2 months and 16 days away (as of July 29, 2025).
After this date, the system will no longer receive:
- Security updates
- Feature updates
- Technical support
Until then, all editions remain supported.
Why This Is Important
After October 2025, your computer may still work, but no security patches means increased risk of malware, ransomware, and data breaches. Many software vendors will stop supporting Windows 10, which could cause compatibility issues.
Before October 14, 2025
- Your system continues to receive security updates and patches
- Compatibility with most software remains strong
- Businesses and individuals can still rely on Windows 10 safely
After October 14, 2025
- No more security patches — higher risk of malware and ransomware
- Software vendors begin phasing out support
- Compliance issues for businesses in regulated industries
What You Can Do
1. Upgrade to Windows 11
Free if your device meets the requirements
2. Buy a New PC

3. Subscribe to Extended Security Updates (ESU)
Microsoft offers the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for users who can’t immediately move to Windows 11. ESU provides critical and important security updates for up to 3 additional years (until October 2028 for some editions).
